Fire

I am 49 now, maried with two boys Charles 4 and Daniel 2. I am a survivng burn victom, with 85% scars over my body due to an arsonest who set the appartment we lived in on fire when I was 8 up in Brooklyn N.Y.. I type with two fingers today as I don't have the full use of my hands. I am an electrican by trade, and have to work very hard at it with my disability, but I do not let that stop me. I got traped on the fireacape up on the 3rd floor where my hands melted to the bars, the firemen had to peel my hands free. The pain I went through was unbeleavable. The doctors only gave me a 48 hour surviel rate at the burn center. I had to learn how to walk and do every thing again,just as a new born would have to learn. I was in a wheel chair for a year after I was relised from the hospital for the first time. I had many different plastic surgerys over different parts of my body due to the intense damage done by the fire over the years, and still need more surgery today. I go on, I am a survivor, I don't let things stop me. And nither should you. Don't let things get in your way, go around them, go over them, go through them. After all we are all survivors. |
